Hardy County Heritage Weekend

Sept. 25 and 26, 2010

Every year during the last full weekend of September, Hardy County celebrates its history and culture by hosting a weekend of historic house tours, as well as organized venues for craftsmen and artisans to demonstrate and sell their wares.

Mary Umstead and Judy Moyer sell LREF raffle tickets
and Heritage Weekend tickets on the lawn at the Harper Barn.

Visitors look at some forged candlesticks.

Robert Carperell hammers some white-hot iron on his anvil.

A visitor makes a bid on some of the silent auction items
available inside the Harper Barn gallery.

Light shining through stained glass pieces attracts the interest of a visitor.

Janet Gillies sings for visitors and LRAC artisans.

Artist Debbie Nees (seated) brought a display of her
paintings to the barn for the weekend.

A unfinished piece of Brad Allen's pottery is framed
by several finished pieces in the background.

Judy Moyer pulls a threaded needle through as she works on a quilt.
